Dina Meyer was born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island, just before her last term of junior high. She has two younger siblings and a brother who is older. Modeling was her first job in the industry. The model was employed from the age of 9 to 16. Ron Stetson taught her the Sanford Meisner acting technique at The Neighborhood Playhouse. The other actors who received such education include Sandra Bullock, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton, among other people. The first film she appeared in was Beverly Hills 90210 which forced her to move from Beverly Hills to Los Angeles. Her first role was in Johnny Mnemonic. She did all of the stunts in the film and helped establish her as an athletic actor. The talent agent she worked with was also representing Matt LeBlanc so, through her agent she was able score a recurring role on Friends.
